Setting Up Your Studio
Lighting
All
color is a reflection of light, therefore the light source for any type
of color work is most important. Artificial incandescent or fluorescent
lighting greatly distort color. For seasonal color analysis, full spectrum lighting
(natural or artificial daylight) is necessary to ensure accurate
results. Artificial daylight bulbs are available for your lighting
needs. Allow $40-$250 for proper lighting.
Neutral Gray Surroundings
The
only way to determine true color is when the color is surrounded by a
neutral gray. Covering the client's hair with a neutral gray cap and
the client's clothing with a neutral gray gown helps ensure that the
color analysis is accurate. Since the analyst's relection is also seen
in the mirror, a neutral gray analyst's robe is also available. Walls
and backdrops in the analysis area should be in a light neutral shade
of gray. Neutral gray color chips are available for paint color
selection for your studio. Allow $200 for neutral gray accessories &
surroundings.
