Green Light, For Aiding in Meditation
Using Green Energy To Harmonize, Balance, Renew, and Refresh
Green, the fulcrum of the spectrum,
is a balancing color—nature’s tonic for all conditions.
Where other spectral colors need to be used
delicately for therapy, green can be applied
for long periods of time.
Green light is the vibration of rejuvenation
and new life. It is the color of strength and
of peace. Green light immediately engenders
peacefulness, while soothing and reassuring
us to a quiet state. It is therefore not difficult
to understand how helpful green light can
be with meditation.
In meditation we sit down to disconnect
from our busy day-to day life, our habit-life.
Green light immediately grounds us and brings
peace us of mind through its naturally refreshing
nature. At times when we feel drained and
tired, green allows us to feel higher energy,
revived motivation, and a new and fresh energy.
Simply sitting before green light allows
the nervous system to respond immediately.
Even the skin opens up to green light. As
the muscles of the face and eyes relax, breathing
deepens and exhalation becomes stronger,
more effectively releasing carbon dioxide.
As the body achieves a much better state
of relaxation it is capable of taking take
in more oxygen.
Green light is also recognized for its “healing
momentum” as it replaces your hurried
and stressful life with one of calm and good
health. As we breathe better, we feel better;
when we feel better, we get more done. When
we get more done, we’re not as stressed
and don’t feel as hurried.
The abilities of green light are is truly
amazing. Its illumination on living beings
(not just humans, but cats, dogs, birds,
horses, plants, and other living creatures)
has an immediate and deep effect.
As Buddhist Monk Bhante Dharmawara Teaches
About Green Light and Meditation…
Bhante Dharmawara (Ven. Samdach Vira Dharmawara
Bellong Mahathera Bhante: 1889-1999) was a
Cambodian-born monk who lived to the age of
110. At the age of 40 he walked into the forest
to follow the teachings of Buddha. Before that
moment, he had been a lawyer, judge and provincial
governor in Cambodia. Bhante lived in huts
and subsisted on raw fruits and vegetables.
He spent 45 years teaching and building a monastery.
Bhante became well known for his abilities
in treating people with a healing process involving
green light.
Until his death, the world-renowned
healer, Bhante Dharmawara, taught the benefits
of using green light for the purposes
of meditation.
This Buddhist monk learned first-hand about
the properties of green light as he traveled
thorugh the lush forests of Thailand. He
discovered that green was not only powerful
as a healing agent, but was almost magical
in its qualities which it bestowed upon
those seeking deeper spiritual understanding
through meditation.
To this day, his students and followers
meditate under the gentle illumination
of green light.
