Color Mixing and Matching I

Are you attempting to put color to work for you without first understanding its nature?
A costly mistake! Save the expense of both time and colorants by truly understanding the fundamentals of color mixing. This course will provide a basic understanding of exactly what color is and how it mixes to give us the millions of variations we see. Students will create their own 12-part color circle, understand complements and the three dimensions of color. A must for anyone who works with color.

Course Description:

Nature keeps it simple when it comes to color, and you'll be surprised at just how easy duplicating the colors of your world can be.

This course offers a holistic approach to understanding how, but more importantly, why, nature mixes the spectral hues to create the millions of subtle color variations we see. By understanding nature's use of color, you'll discover your "color connection" and harmony with your environment and the importance of color in your life. Through hands-on color mixing experience, students will mix the spectral hues, create their own color circle, understand and mix values and chromas of each hue, understand and mix complements as well as their neutral grays, mix blacks and browns, and, by the end of this course be able to effortlessly mix, match, and understand every color they see.
