Have you ever wondered what makes a successful work of art? Whether it is a masterpiece in oil, or the simple beauty of a delicious ice cream cone, the answer lies in harmony.
This continuation and expansion of Holistic Color Harmony I explores the natural color harmonies in our world, their relationships to our lives, sense of balance, and well being.
"Color - It's Mother Nature’s call,
luring the bee to the blossom,
his mate to the peacock."

Holistic Color Harmony II
Course Description:
Through hands-on color mixing, students will explore the natural harmonies of their environment. The physical as well as psychological human response to these natural harmonies will be discussed and understood in terms of our survival as a species. In so many ways, today's clients desire a greater integration with nature and a more holistic lifestyle. The knowledge acquired in this exclusive course will distinguish you in your artistic field.
From sunrise to sunset, the phenomenon of sunlight as it illuminates, colors, and sustains our lives will be thoroughly covered, and painted. The use of artificial lighting will also be explained and related to its varying color effects. The incredible work of John Nash Ott, famous for his time-lapse photography of plants, and the development of full spectrum lighting will be introduced and studied.
Analogous harmonies will be covered in the study of flower pedals; the complementary harmonies of plants will be duplicated; and the monochromatic harmonies of insects and animals will be studied and painted effortlessly in watercolor. The unique color harmonies of human coloration will be painted also.
For the artist, the mastery of color harmony is imperative. The difference in a viewer's response to works of art created by artists who truly understand color harmony, and those who do not, is the difference between being left speechless, or simply silent.
