The Color Violet and the Human Being

Violet is used in color therapy as a powerful healing energy with strong purification properties. On the physical level it stimulates the spleen and purifies the blood. Pineal Gland: Related organs/systems

• Located in the central part of the brain between the two hemispheres.
• Not much is known about the pineal gland, but it has been discovered that it produces the hormone melatonin which plays an important role in many human activities. For instance, it is believed that melatonin regulates the day/night cycle, slows the aging process, coordinates fertility, and encourages deep, restful sleep.

Possible diseases/disorders resulting from pineal gland malfunction:

• Various disorders – like the hypothalamus, medical research has not concluded that any specific disorder affects the pineal gland alone. However, it has been found that various disorders can occur when there is insufficient melatonin in the body. Some of these disorders and disease include:
  o Hypertension
  o Sexual dysfunction
  o Epilepsy
  o Cancer
  o Paget’s disease (disease that affects the bone. It causes bones to break down faster in the affected area and bones grow back softer than is normal allowing them to bend and break easier.)
